Dage Launches New High-Power X-ray Tube

Retains sub-micron feature recognition at full power

Dage Precision Industries, a Nordson company (NASDAQ: NDSN) and the industry leader in x-ray inspection technology, is pleased to announce the launch of its new high-power x-ray tube.

This new high-power x-ray tube provides up to 10 watts of power while at the same time retaining complete sub-micron feature recognition.  This is unlike existing high-power tubes that have to significantly compromise resolution when used at higher power levels and high voltage settings. High power and high resolution is especially important when looking through highly dense materials such as multilayer printed circuit boards containing components located under heat sinks.

This capability is achieved through the latest developments in Dage’s revolutionary sealed-transmissive x-ray tube technology providing a user selectable choice of 100 nanometer feature recognition at up to 4 watts of power across the tube kV range, or up to a full 10 watts of power yet still retaining sub-micron feature recognition.  This flexibility offers high x-ray flux at the best resolution which is ideal for imaging the slightest density variation found in state-of-the-art semiconductor device features as well as for improved computerized tomography (CT) analysis.

The high-power tube is available in Dage’s XD7600NT100 digital x-ray inspection system which combines the superior digital acquisition technology of the Dage XiDAT 2.0 imaging system with Dage’s easy to use ImageWizard software for world class inspection quality.

Optionally, the XD7600NT100 can be equipped with computerized tomography (CT) providing 3D modeling, measurements and virtual micro-sectioning of solder joints; ideally suited for analytical analysis of solder interconnections for critical applications such as stacked die, MEMS, package-in-package and package-on-package.
